Result of ServiceAn annotated outline of a draft RIA supplementary guidance that has been informed by desktop research and consultations with subject matter experts and relevant stakeholders, which will be the basis of a RIA supplemental guidance that will form part of the current NAP Guidanceโ€™s section on developing an evaluation process for the NAP. Work LocationHome based Expected durationExtension 3 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe consultant is expected to develop sections of the draft RIA supplementary guidance document, through the following: โ€ข Undertake desk study and consultations: Collection / compilation of relevant literature and other information based on received feedback from the Parties and subject experts; analysis of the submitted NAPs and other existing resources, such as Minamata Convention Initial Assessments. โ€ข Draft and consult the RIA supplementary guidance: Draft sections of the RIA supplementary guidance based on the above desk review and consultations with subject matter experts and other relevant stakeholders. Finalize the draft RIA supplementary guidance for consideration and possible adoption by the COP at its sixth meeting. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree in environmental sciences, geology, mining, physical sciences, environmental governance, or related field. A bachelor degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying working experience in a related field may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. โ€ข At least five years of experience working in the context of the Minamata Experience working on national ASGM strategies setting, including for example development of the Minamata NAPs for the sector is desirable. โ€ข Experience with supporting countries estimating mercury use and documenting ASGM practices is desirable. โ€ข Experience with planning and reporting of the national strategies in the chemicals and waste domain is desirable. โ€ข Convention on Mercury and with the ASGM sector is required. LanguagesFluency in English including strong drafting/writing skills is required. Competency in French and/or Spanish is desirable. Additional InformationNot available.
