Deputy Head of Banking Department
Purpose of the job:
The successful candidate is responsible for assisting the Head of Banking in the management of the Department, including all dealing and support operations involved in the management of the Bankโs assets and liabilities. They will lead and run one of the core areas of the Banking Department.
The Deputy operates in a close team relationship with the Head of Banking, acting as replacement in their absence, and participates in the formulation of strategy and the management of the Bank as a member of the Finance Committee. They contribute to the strategic planning and management of the BIS in close association with the members of the Executive Committee.
Principal accountabilities:
Assist and deputise for the Head of Banking Department in exercising their responsibilities for the following activities:
Taking direct responsibility for leading and running one of the core business areas of the Banking Department.
Qualification:
MA/MSc in Economics, Finance or equivalent.Skills:
Clear record of achievement in international banking with experience in prudent treasury, asset/liability management and/or portfolio management. Good understanding of the characteristics and requirements of central banks and supranational institutions as customers. Analytical, managerial and leadership skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent English drafting skills.Work experience:
