Result of ServiceThe objective of this assignment is to produce a black & white sketching of the ESCWA Stories comic book, volume V. Work LocationRemotely Expected duration2 Months Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground The SDG Stories Team was established by ESCWAโ€™s Executive Secretary to mainstream the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among young persons in the Arab region by using the โ€œESCWA Storiesโ€ comic book as an educational tool. Four volumes of the book have been published in Arabic and English, and ESCWA is currently working on volume V. Against this background, the services of a Creative Illustrator are needed to work on the illustration of volume V of the โ€œESCWA Storiesโ€ book (in Arabic). The Creative Illustrator will undertake the following tasks: 1- Work on the sketching of volume V of the ESCWA Stories comic book based on the Arabic script provided by the \"ESCWA Stories\" team (5 short stories: total 50 pages). 2- Ensure the sketches and content reflect consistently and positively the brand image and ESCWA's motto, vision, and mission. 3- Coordinate regularly with the team to ensure a smooth illustrated interpretation of the script. 4- Report progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution. Qualifications/special skillsA Master's degree or equivalent in illustration and comic books design is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 10 years of experience in illustration and/or comics is required. Familiarity with the UN system and sustainable development agenda is desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in Arabic and English is required. Note: \"Fluency\" equals a rating of 'fluent' in all four areas (speak, read, write and understand) and \"Knowledge of\" equals a rating of 'confident' in two of the four areas.
