About this position

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and agile general operations consultant. As the general operations consultant, you will support projects of moderate complexity or scope; and you will analyze, review, and monitor the portfolio assigned, while working under limited supervision of others.

You will work in Country Office Belize part of CID department. This team is responsible for supporting the design, implementation and administration of development projects and programs (loans and grants); and leading and maintaining dialogue with the Government of Belize (GOB).

What you’ll do:

· Performs activities requiring applied knowledge of technical discipline.

· Conductus routine to moderately technical analyses or research synthesizing information and analyzing findings to support Unit and/or operational activities.

· Effectively use IDB tools and methodologies to perform assigned tasks.

· Supports the development of tools by identifying opportunities to improve for use in technical area.

· Uses standard and specialized system and tools to generate data and produce documents/reports.

· Works under moderate supervision to perform routine technical activities.

· Works under regular supervision to perform more complex tasks.

· May work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and coordinates work within and beyond own unit.

What you'll need

· Education: Master’s degree in economics, business administration, social science, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role, or the combination of education and experience. A Project Management Certification would be an asset.

· Experience: A minimum of five (5) years relevant professional experience in project management, and/or two (2) years’ experience with multilateral development institutions or other external donors would be an asset.

· Languages: Proficiency in English

Requirements:

· Citizenship: You are either a citizen of Belize or a citizen of one of our 48-member countries with residency or legal permit to work in Belize

· Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

· COVID-19 considerations: the health and safety of our employees are our number one priority. As a condition of employment, IDB/IDB Invest requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

· Type of contract: National Consultant Full-Time

· Length of contract: 22 months
