Action For Humanity (AFH) has initiated the process of registration as an International NGO in Pakistan. At AFH, we have an exciting opportunity for a Country Liaison Manager to represent AFH Pakistan**.** You will join us on a full-time basis as part of an initial 1-year fixed term contract with a view to progressing into a permanent role.

As a Country Liaison Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Islamabad Pakistan and responsible for setting up of AFH Pakistan office and will assist AFH UK in the registration process of the organisation.

The role would be ideal for a person who wants to build his/her career in the humanitarian and development sector and aims to bring change in the lives of the poor people through a platform of AFH. The position holder will report directly to the Global Head of Institutional Funding & strategic partnerships with dotted line reporting to Global Head of Programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and setup an AFH office in Islamabad as per the requirements of AFH-UK
  • Engage with relevant key stakeholders, including government line departments, to receive relevant information required to register an INGO in Pakistan
  • Make regular visits to relevant ministries, including Ministry of Economic Affairs Division, Government of Pakistan and complete all the relevant documents required for registration
  • Assist AFH UK in developing operational plan and budget required for INGO registration in Pakistan
  • Assist AFH UK in fulfilling all the requirements for a successful submission of Application to the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan
  • Facilitate regulatory authorities and agencies during the due diligence of AFH
  • Work closely with AFH Global Head Institutional funding and Global Head of Programmes to identify poorest areas, emerging issues and new approaches/innovations which could lead to potential new areas of programme interventions in Pakistan
  • Identify potential local partners in line with the strategic priorities of AFH
  • Monitor and evaluate of the progress of local partners and report to AFH UK
  • Assist AFH UK in developing quality concept notes, proposals, logframes, budget and reports for submission to High networth individuals, trusts, foundations and institutional donors.
  • Assist AFH UK in taking quality photos and making video documentaries of the poor target areas where AFH aims to implement its projects in Pakistan
  • Define and manage AFHโ€™s Risk framework including risk policies and procedures in order to enable proactive risk management/Compliance
  • Raising the profile of AFH in the sector through networking and representing it on appropriate platforms once the registration process is completed
  • Ensure maintenance of records of all project monitoring and evaluation reports, field visit reports, need assessments and baselines.
  • Provide support to Programmes team at AFH UK when needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • A minimum of bachelorโ€™s degree from recognised university of Pakistan or abroad.
  • A track record in analysing, planning and making decisions at a strategic level.
  • Experience of proposal development, budget making, financial management and reporting to donors.
  • Proven track record of liaison with key stakeholders including government line departments and media.
  • A good understanding of and experience of working in developing countries or humanitarian contexts.
  • Experience and knowledge of International Development particularly in the context of Pakistan.
  • Experience of working with partner organisations and managing partnership relationships.
  • Experience in producing narrative reports for donors and internal stakeholders.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of challenges faced by INGOs.
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • High level communication skills, including experience of communicating effectively with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong people skills, flexible and responsive to the needs of the team as well as the wider organisation
  • Ability to reflect on how to use time most effectively and to manage a complex workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Keen interest in developing own skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to travel to various project locations in Pakistan
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
