    - DURATION : 3 moths

    The CAR Country Office is operating a 5-year Country Strategic Programme which commenced on 1 March 2023 and is meant to address food insecurity in emergency and resilience context. With an average annual target of 1.5 million beneficiaries comprising of internally displaced people, refugees, highly vulnerable groups that are infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, marginalized groups, etc, and considering the decayed status of the socioeconomic structure, the CAR Country Office is deeply committed to safeguarding the well-being of all affected populations, with an emphasis on ensuring protection and security for the vulnerable targets.

    In line with WFP's Gender Policy (2022), the office also seeks to achieve equitable access to food security and nutrition, tackle the root causes of gender inequalities, and empower women and girls. They are steadfast in their efforts to create a safe and inclusive environment, fostering zero tolerance towards any form of violence, harassment, or discrimination.

    To realize these objectives, the recruitment of a dedicated Programme Policy Officer is of paramount importance. This officer will be instrumental in formulating and executing strategies, policies, and initiatives aimed at ensuring the protection and meaningful access to essential services for those affected. Collaborating closely with government entities, local stakeholders, and partners, the officer will strengthen coordination efforts and integrate protection considerations across the country.
