JOB TITLE: Partnerships Consultant (EU External Action) TYPE OF CONTRACT:

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
WFP Brussels is searching for a Partnerships Consultant to support the engagement with the Council of the European Union, European Parliament and the European External Actions Service. The Partnerships Consultant will be contributing to maintaining the WFP network within the institutions, and further elevating the organisation's visibility and influence in Brussels.
Under the supervision and in collaboration with the Partnerships Officer (EU External Action), the Partnerships Consultant will support in working towards strengthening WFP's visibility and leverage among the EU stakeholders, especially Members of the European Parliament as well as EU and Member State officials.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Update, maintain and expand the stakeholder mapping document, which includes key contacts from the European Parliament, Council of the European Union, other EU institutions as well as Member States' line ministries responsible for foreign affairs, development assistance and humanitarian assistance.
2. Support the analytical work of WFP Brussels by following and debriefing on various EU events and hearings, such as European Parliament's committees meetings.
3. Support WFP Brussels mission through collection of data and, under the supervision of the Partnerships Officer, preparation of policy and political analyses.
4. In liaison with the Partnerships Officer (EU External Action) and the Communications Unit, the Partnerships Consultant shall support the organisation and logistics of WFP external events organised in Brussels, as and when they are scheduled.
5. The Partnerships Consultant shall support the Partnerships Officer, as well as other team members, in ad hoc duties including, but not limited to media monitoring of relevant developments, helping in scheduling of meetings, HQ requests, identifying upcoming events which may be relevant for WFP.
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
1. Stakeholder mapping document, updated and expanded.
2. Contributing to the successful organisation of WFP events
3. Other deliverables, as required
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Post-graduate Degree in the field of Political Science, International Development, Economics, Journalism, International Relations, Communications or other relevant field.
Experience: Up to 3 years of experience in an EU focused environment. Experience in multicultural work environment, particularly EU institutions; Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) Knowledge & Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, strong analytical and drafting skills; knowledge of EU affairs. Languages: Fluency (level C) in English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official EU language is an asset.
