Result of ServiceVisual style guide + master templates Final slide decks & finalized assets (post-feedback) Work LocationRemote Expected duration15 December to 31 December 2025 Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the Head, UN-SPIDER Beijing Office, the consultant will: 1.Review and style guide alignment - Review the approved course outline, draft slide decks, and branding/UX guidance from: UNOOSA/UN-SPIDER; UNU Learning Center (lc.unu.edu) style and layout expectations. - Develop a concise visual style guide for the course (colour palette, typography hierarchy, iconography, layouts), consistent with UN and UNU standards. 2.Slide deck design and layout - Redesign and format all course slide decks for the four modules, including: Title, content and summary slides; Section dividers, learning objectives, key messages; Tables, charts, maps and technical figures. - Ensure: Visual consistency across modules; Readability and accessibility (font sizes, contrast, hierarchy); Proper use of UN/UNOOSA/UN-SPIDER/partner logos as per guidelines. - Prepare two levels of files: Master templates; Finalized, content-populated decks (editable). 3. Infographics and illustrations - Create or adapt simple infographics, icons, process diagrams and visual elements to explain: Chinese EO satellite constellations and data flows; Analytical workflows (optical, SAR); Case study pipelines (e.g. flood mapping, water monitoring). - Deliver assets in formats suitable for both slides and web (e.g. SVG/PNG). 4. Support for multimedia assets - In coordination with the Multimedia & Platform Integration Designer: Provide visual layouts, lower-third templates, title cards, and static elements for use in recorded video lectures and screen-capture tutorials. - Ensure brand consistency across static and video-based materials. 5. Collaboration and iteration - Participate in coordination calls (as needed) with UNOOSA/UN-SPIDER, UNU-INWEH and the second consultant. - Revise materials based on consolidated feedback and ensure on-time delivery. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in remote sensing, geoinformation science, geography, environmental science, disaster risk management, instructional design, or a related field is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. At least five (5) years of proven experience in designing slide decks, infographics and visual templates is required. Excellent skills in Adobe Creative Cloud and/or equivalent tools; ability to deliver accessible, web-optimized assets is required. Demonstrated experience working with international organizations, UN system experience is desirable. Familiarity with geospatial / EO / technical content is an desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage. Additional InformationNot available.
