UNICEF JAMAICA goal is to help to fulfil the rights of every child.ย
We pursue this goal by partnering with stakeholders such as the government, non-governmental organizations, change-makers in civil society and the private sector to influence and improve laws, policies, and programmes which will impact how children access quality services. We are in a unique position to collaborate with everyone including advocates and service providers who work closely with children and their families, as well as the elected leaders who are responsible to ensure that laws and policies are in line with children's rights. Most importantly, we integrate the voices of our children and adolescents by engaging them on the issues that affect their lives.

How can you make a difference?ย

Applications should include: โข Evidence of Similar Work โข A creative design proposal that articulates how you will approach the tangible output requested. This should include a realistic and timed plan of action, including proposed number of days required for completion of the work for all components.

Education and Experience
ย A minimum ofย ย 5 yearsof relevant professional experience in graphic design. Excellent design and layout skills. Prior experience with producing technical reports, laying out pictures, charts and tables. Understanding of the work of the UN, UNICEF. Note: The above can be supported by sharing similar work that the graphic artist has developed that is relevant to the project described in this RFQ. Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.ย Professional technical knowledge and expertise in Specialized knowledge of PC and Mac OSX platforms: Experience with digital file types, i.e., jpg, gif, eps, etc. ย Experience with digital printing processes for publications. ย Experience with image resolution optimization. ย Experience with Design software: Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Professional, and Genuine Fractals among others.
Other Skills and attributes
Graphic Artist should clearly demonstrate ability to deal with multiple last-minute changes without compromising the delivery deadlines. Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. Must be detail-oriented and sets high levels of quality and productivity for self. Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered โstaff membersโ under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEFโs policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract.
