The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking an innovative and multi-skilled candidate to join its office in Anand, India, as a Consultant \u2013 Finance Associate.

The consultant will assist in finance and administrative tasks and accurate record-keeping of ongoing financial transactions.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead financial planning, budget tracking, record-keeping, and financial reporting for all projects led from the IWMI Anand office. Assist in the preparation, verification, and processing of all travel claims, statements of expenses, advances, petty cash management, vendor payments, and bank payments, as per established financial processes. Maintain a proper filing system for vouchers in the Anand office and archive other important documents, uploading them in the SAP system. Keep track of consultant and partner payments and follow up for the settlement of advances and vendor clearing. Support project leaders in budget monitoring, donor financial reporting, and implementing financial recommendations. Collaborate with relevant IWMI-HQ and IWMI-India departments and colleagues to gather data supporting the financial aspects of project implementation at the IWMI-Anand office. Review project expenses and ensure proper allocation to the correct WBS lines, addressing corrections as needed. Assist in various internal/external audits, as needed. In consultation with IWMI staff, enter and book expenses in IWMI's SAP system, raise PRs, and perform MIRO (invoice verification). Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting documents and information for all financial transactions. Keep track of IWMI Anand project budgets and expenses and provide monthly updates.

Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in an accounting and finance-related discipline or partial qualification in chartered accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification.

Desirable:

Master\u2019s degree in accounting and finance-related discipline.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

At least 2 years of relevant experience in managing project financing, preferably in an international context. Exposure in coordinating and collaborating between the finance and program teams within an organization. Extensive experience in both internal and external audits.

Desirable:

Familiarity with TSIP / online accounting systems.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated skills and experience in financial management, accounting, financial analysis, monitoring, and reporting. Thorough understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Demonstrated sincerity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. Excellent proficiency in MS Office tools (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Possesses facilitation, coordination, and documentation skills along with practical experience. Strong organizational skills, effective at managing multiple tasks in a timely manner and capable of working under pressure.

LANGUAGE PROFICINECY:

Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
