Purpose of consultancy and deliverables:
UNFPA launched the new UNFPA 2030 People, aligned and in support of UNFPAโs Strategic Plan 2022-25.
In this context, DHR is looking for a highly motivated consultant to a) fully support the implementation of UNFPAโs People Strategy and b) support the design and implementation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives globally.
For the implementation of UNFPAโs 2030 People Strategy and the implementation of the most recent EDGEplus action plan, the DEI consultant will assist with the full life cycle of DEI initiatives, from strategic formulation to their delivery.
More specifically, under the direction of the DEI Specialist, the consultant will:
โข Provide support to the regional offices in the research and design of locally relevant initiatives in multiple languages, in line with the DEI strategy and the EDGEplus action plan
โข Cooperate with other DHR colleagues on the full implementation of the EDGEplus action plan
โข Create and manage communication materials e.g. UNFPA DEI intranet page, communication posts, videos, digital content on DEI issues and topics, podcast etc.
โข Support the design and the implementation of UNFPAโs DEI related training, workshops and learnings activities
โข Coordinate activities and logistical aspects of DEI related events
โข Provide assistance in the interactions with stakeholders as needed
โข Support procurement and vendor management
โข Support with reporting (UNDIS, UNSWAP, JIU etc)
In addition, carry out any other duties as may be required by the Diversity and Inclusion Specialist or the Chief, Career Development & Talent Mobility e.g. preparation for the UNFPAโs Global Staff Survey (GSS)
Required Expertise and Qualifications:
Education:
โข Masterโs (preferred) with a minimum of 1 year of professional experience
Knowledge and experience:
โข Some professional experience in the formulation of DEI strategies and implementation
โข Strong written and oral communication skills, comfortable at speaking in front of larger audiences, in multiple languages
โข Design, creation and management of intranet communication pages
โข Strong skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
โข Experience with UN or in multinational context desired
Languages:
โข Working knowledge in English required; knowledge of additional UN language such as French, Spanish, Arabic is desired
