The Engineering Department (EN) pushes forward the limits of technology to provide innovative research tools to the physics and engineering worldwide community. Within the Accelerator Coordination & Engineering group (ACE) group, you will join the Configuration and Layout section.

Within the Configuration and Layout section, as Configuration Manager, you are responsible for the layout and configuration management of one (or more) of the CERN accelerators, guaranteeing the traceability of the equipment changes and the coherence between the different databases and engineering tools. You will also be involved in the 3D spatial integration studies with the Integration section and contribution to digital mock-up. This is key to ensure high performance and long-term availability of the CERN discovery machines.
Functions
As Configuration Manager, you will be responsible for:
Managing the configuration (CERN layout) database of different accelerators at CERN ensuring quality, coherence and update of the relevant data.Ensuring accuracy and consistency of the Project & Facility Breakdown Structures in the Engineering & Equipment Data Management system (EDMS).Evaluating requests for technical changes, interacting with different stakeholders of the projects and equipment owners to provide required justification and documentation for formal review and approval.Reviewing the naming conventions, processes and tools used for accelerators configuration at CERN when needed and participating in their sustainability.Ensuring coherence and completeness of the documents describing the interventions as well as the implementation of updates and synchronisation with various engineering and technical systems.Verify and update the documentation of electrical circuits and mechanical drawings in collaboration with the concerned groups.Providing 3D and 2D Layout of the LHC accelerator and participating to 3D integration studies.Chairing working groups and coordination meetings and reporting in high level committees within the scope of configuration and layout activities.Participating to the dematerialisation project and supervising the corresponding software developer engineers.Contributing to the developments of digital mock-ups.Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Mechanical or Electrical engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Demonstrated experience in configuration management and project management.Extensive experience in 3D integration of complex systems in large facilities or of large equivalent projects.Experience in the use of PDM (Product Data Management) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) for CAD document, such as Dassault Systรจmes, Smarteam or equivalent.Experience performing SQL database queries would be an asset.Technical competencies:
Configuration and use of information management systems.Organisation, planning and control.Project management.Production of 2D drawings and 3D models: in particular the use of CAD software, such as Autocad and/or CATIAv5;Integration of mechanical systems.Behavioural competencies:
