Your responsibilities

The Experimental Physics department at CERN is part of a new European project, EVERSE, that will engage a community of researchers, software developers, and other stakeholders to build a collaborative community for evaluating, verifying, and improving the quality of scientific software and code. If you are passionate about modern communications and working with scientific communities this would be the perfect opportunity for you.

The main roles and responsibilities of the post are to:

Develop and maintain a website for the EVERSE project members and collaboratorsEstablish a project newsletter, with articles and interviews on software quality and developmentPlan a software seminar series with EVERSE partners that highlights key software topicsMaintain a social media presence for EVERSE and its activitiesHelp other EVERSE partners in their community outreach activities and building towards a European Virtual Institute for Research Software ExcellencePromote CERN software projects, collaborations, and initiatives within EVERSE and affiliated projectsCoordinate with colleagues in EP and IT to deliver our part of the projectAttend EVERSE meetings at CERN and other European locations

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

Professional experience in communication related to science, technology and innovationMasters degree in Science Communication will be an assetExperience of scientific software development would be an advantageFluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.

You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Science Communication studies (or a related field) by the application deadline.

Your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.

You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.

Applicants without University degree are not eligible.

Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
