About this position
We are looking for a motivated, experienced, and dynamic consultant which main objective is to work within the team that coordinates the communications and knowledge dissemination efforts of the Managerโs Office and its initiatives.
You will work at the Infrastructure and Energy Department, under the supervision of Tomas Serebrisky.
What youโll do:
The selected candidate will:
- Coordinate INE/INE communications-related activities, with objectives and messages directly and clearly linked to IDB institutional strategy in accordance with INEโs annual plan.
- Craft INE/INE messages for the most effective dissemination of key priorities, identifying emerging issues to position the IDB as thought leader.
- Provide technical inputs and support the Office of the Manager in relevant internal and external communications activities, which include draft and edit press releases, announcements, animation/video scripts, social media outputs, talking points, speeches, op-eds, blogposts, case studies, newsletters and other materials that illustrate the scope, importance, results, and impact of INE's work.
- Provide support in the generation and production of communication products (blogpost, Newsletters, A/V products including videos and multimedia presentations, Website, communities of practice, social media, etc.).
- Support the organization of events, which include coordinate logistics (zoom, teams, interpretation), draft content related to the event (invitations, agenda, social media), assist the team during the event, and following-up post-event on any pending issue.
- Advise and support in crisis management, which includes the preparation of briefs, talking points, press announcements, among others.
What you'll need
- Education: The candidate must hold a masterโs degree in any of the following fields: communications, journalism, public affairs, international relations, public policy.
- Experience: At least five (5) years of relevant experience, preferably with at least two (2) in international settings, coordinating strategic communication efforts and/or initiatives, disseminating knowledge, improving visibility, and developing relevant content. Experience/knowledge in graphic design, event production and editorial product development is a plus.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
- Length of contract: 12 months.
