Your responsibilities
For this exciting, large-scale feasibility design studies, you will:
• Gather requirements from the end-users for a multitude of studies and translate them into Technical Specifications.
• Produce and/or check conceptual plans and layout drawings for the proposed new facilities.
• Prepare cost estimates and timelines for the construction of future projects and studies.
• Ensure that all design concepts comply with the relevant local legislation/norms and regulations.
• Present the findings of your studies at high-level meetings.
• Write technical documents and reports, as well as tender and contracts for the design phase of new facilities.
• Plan and coordinate the design work of the external design consultants including the procurement process and the setup and management of design consultancy contracts.
• For small to medium size projects, you will plan and coordinate the execution of the works including the procurement process.

Skills and/or knowledge
Experience in cost estimating for civil engineering projects Knowledge of underground structure construction Knowledge of building construction Project managementFluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.Eligibility criteria:
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a professional background in Civil Engineering (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience;or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.Additional Information
