The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is seeking two (2) full-time Capacity Building and Training (CBT) Associates for supporting the delivery of CBT programs and empirical research on development issues relating to transport, urban development, infrastructure and private sector.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the organization and implementation of workshops and capacity building programs
  • Supporting the preparation of presentations for senior staff
  • Communicating with government officials and experts in Asian countries
  • Research assistance, including literature reviews and quantitative methods
  • Drafting research papers, policy briefs, and other documents with task manager(s)
  • Helping with the general administration of the CBT department
  • Other tasks, as assigned

    Requirements

    • Masterโ€™s degree (completed or graduating in March 2025) or doctoral studies (completed or graduating in March 2025) in a discipline related to economic and social development in Asia preferred
    • Good organizational skills and hard working
    • Strong analytical skills on policy issues related to development and capacity building
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills in written and oral English

      Application Procedure

      Applicants must be nationals of an ADB member economy currently residing in Japan, and already in possession of valid permission to work.

      Capacity Building and Training Associates serve for limited terms as independent contractors in a personal capacity. They are neither officers nor staff of ADBI. CBT Associates work under the direct supervision of ADBI professional staff and the overall guidance of the Deputy Dean (CBT and Special Activities).
