Work LocationAddis Ababa Expected duration6 Months Duties and ResponsibilitiesRESPONSIBILITIES: Within delegated authority, the CAD technician is responsible for the following duties but not limited to:- 1. Take measurements of all facilities within the UNECA compound to prepare As-built drawings 2. Prepare updated as-build drawings for each building within the UNECA compound based on the given working timeline 3. Indicating different required measurements on the drawings based on HQ requirements. 4. Prepare updated as-built drawings for each floor including the current sitting layout with accurate workstation measurements 5. Develop the standard for the maximum allowable number of persons for specific floors and building 6. Develop the standard possible number of persons for a specific floor and building 7. Plan and prioritize workload on a weekly basis in discussion with the facilities management officer and the Head of project planning and implementation unit. 8. Produce perspective drawings in a 3D environment using Revit. 9. Produce 2D Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and Sanitary drawings for various projects under the guidance of facilities management officer and Head of project planning and implementation unit. 10. Develop fly-through video presentations of designs. 11. Produce site plans, setting out information, and site profiles for the given construction site. 12. Prepares all required graphical, analytical, and written documentation of the approved designs by the Head of the Major Capital Sub-Unit; 13. Assist the Chief FMS in the preparation of the Scope of Works/Requirements of projects; 14. Assist in the monitoring and supervision of the execution of projects by the contractor's final consultants in accordance with the contract and best professional practice; 15. Prepare renderings and presentation drawings. 16. Prepare checks or collates drawings, bills of material, cost estimates, timelines, etc. for projects prepared in-house or outsourced; 17. Assist all other sub-units of the section in all graphical and technical documentation aspects 18. Assist in maintaining chronological and subject files (in hard and soft copies) and in maintaining a database for the use of the Section; 19. Operate a variety of office equipment e.g., photocopier, facsimile, printer, scanner, etc. And inform the Staff Assistant when defaults arise for further appropriate action. 20. Take inventory of stationary materials of the Section and advise the Staff Assistant to take further appropriate action; 21. Assist in receiving/registering incoming and outgoing correspondences; 22. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications/special skillsCertificate is required as a drafts person/CAD technician from a recognized institution. Four or more years of relevant progressively responsible experience in computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related areas. Out of which at least 1 year producing 3D drawings Experience in both Civil engineering projects and Building design projects. - Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit - Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoints - Qualification in Architecture/Engineering is an added value.
