About Field Production

Established in 2021 in Istanbul, Turkey, Field Production (FP) is a specialized media and communication company focused on peacebuilding and supporting communities affected by conflict to build sustainable peace by providing strategic communication consulting services. Our services include Media and Communication, Advocacy and Awareness Raising, Capacity Building and Training, and Performing and Visual Arts.

Our focus is that we work with our clients to reinforce the role of media in conveying real stories of societies, empowering individuals, vulnerable communities, combating violent extremism, raising awareness of sensitive topics, and achieving sustainable development. Through this we work with our partners and clients to ensure our services meet their needs in a way that they can communicate their work in the most efficient and reflective manner.

Description of the role:

FP is looking for Business Development Interns (unpaid) to support the business development team with preparing bids, tenders, proposals, and concept notes for a variety of clients including I/NGOs, UN agencies, and other organizations and companies. The BD Intern will report to the Business Development Lead and the Head of the BD Unit to prepare bids and tenders covering a variety of topics under our media and communication services including; videography and photography services, graphic and web design, training, communication and media campaigns, and implementing strategic communication programs. These proposals and bids will cover several countries including Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Libya, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, and more. FP has been working in these countries for the last 3 years and has implemented several media projects and consultancy assignments.

What do we offer?

Though the internship may start as a non-paid, we offer you an opportunity to develop substantial skills in proposal writing, business development, communication and media, and understand different political and context settings of our countries of operation. Under the supervision of the BD Team Lead you will receive on-job training, coaching, and mentoring to develop your skills in business development, media, and communication in this sector. FP has a large internship program that aims to train and prepare interns for the job market.

For this role, the potential intern(s) should have the following:

  • Advanced speaking and writing skills in English (Arabic is highly desirable but not a must)
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field: media, journalism, graphic design, development studies, social sciences, international relations, etc. (desirable)
  • At least one year of experience in a related sector (desirable)
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong writing and editorial skills for proposal writing purposes
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Have an excellent understanding of the development or humanitarian sector
  • Have an understanding of the political climate in the Middle East, particularly Yemen, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Jordan, Libya, etc.
  • Willingness to learn
