About this position
We are looking for a professional with a background in studies in behavioral sciences, economics, psychology and/or empirical methods and a strong background in data analysis.
You will work in the Research Department (RES)This team is responsible for generating new ideas to enrich the knowledge base that supports the policy agenda of the Bank and its member countries for achieving sustainable and equitable development in the region. To maximize the impact of its research, RES carries out activities that serve as inputs to Bank departments, governments, the academic community, and public opinion in the region.
RES advises management on economic and development issues, conducts research and analysis on macro- and microeconomic trends, and oversees development of the Bankยดs quantitative and analytical databases. It dons a team of researchers with excellent academic credentials, superior research and policymaking experience, and expertise in different areas.
What youโll do:
- Participate in conversations and meetings related to behavioral intervention design, implementation, or evaluation.
- Produce academic literature reviews/surveys in behavioral topics.
- Review and edit policy and technical documents.
- Produce brief summaries of behavioral interventions for its website.
- Help with training activities as needed.
- Provide support for the production of working papes, policy briefs, and other knowledge products.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelorโs degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in economics or related field. Masterโs degree and strong data analysis background preferred.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant professional research experience. Knowledge of Stata is required.
- Languages: Proficiency in English
Requirements:
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.

- Type of contract: CNS Consultant.
- Length of contract: 12 months.
- Work Location: On site.
