OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
The UNESCO Prize for Global Citizenship Education, supported by the Republic of Korea, was adopted by the Executive Board of UNESCO with decision 220 EX/13.I, in September 2024. The Prize shall be awarded biennially for an initial period of six years (2024-2029). The Prize shall consist of two awards of US $50,000 each, recognizing achievements in two categories: (1) youth-led organizations, and (2) individuals, institutions, non-governmental organizations or other entities, who have made outstanding contributions to, and achieved remarkable outcomes in, promoting GCED.
Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General, the overall guidance of the Director of the Division for Peace and Sustainable Development, and the direct supervision of the Chief of Section on Global Citizenship and Peace Education (ED/PSD/GCP), the incumbent is responsible for the administration, management, and overall coordination of the UNESCO Prize for Global Citizenship Education.

Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks and responsibilities:
1. Project support
- Call for nominations: Assist in the initial conceptualization, planning and announcement of the Prizeอพ assist with the management of the online submission platform, including its content and functioning, as well as the collection of applications and endorsement letters.
- Assist with the organization of the jury meeting, award ceremony, laureatesโ seminars and other project activities by providing logistical and technical support: programming of the timeline of the eventsอพ preparation of the relevant materials, documents and presentationsอพ drafting of the invitation letters and technical reports

2. Budgeting and Financial support
- Assist in funds transfer and/or authorization relating to the Prize project and monitor the financial flow and reporting.
- Prepare expenditure reviews for the overall budget and provide supporting documents for the communication with the Donor on the budget adjustment.
- Support budget proposal development, planning, and monitoring in the implementation of the work plan and budget.
3. Monitoring, reporting and evaluation
- Draft progress reports and other documents requested by the relevant stakeholders and donor.
- Assist in facilitating the possible extension and scaling up of the project.
4. Communication and advocacy activities related to the Prize
- Assist in implementing the strategies to disseminate information about the Prize, including working with the communication officer and KMS team in the preparation of advocacy materials, press releases, brochures and newslettersอพ
- Assist in coordination with the donor, international jury members as well as supporting the communications team in maintaining contacts with various partners and stakeholders,
- Maintain and update the Prize webpage and help advocate project through social media and assist in the advocacy for the Prize among Member States and across concerned International Organizations.
5. Support to the Global Citizenship and Peace Education section
Contribute to UNESCO activities related to the Global Citizenship and Peace Education section, with special focus on global citizenship, peace and human rights education, and the follow up to the 2023 Recommendation on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Sustainable Development, and help coordinating engagement of Member States and partners in these areas.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Advanced university degree (masterโs or equivalent) in education, social sciences, international relations, or other relevant fields.
Work Experience
- Minimum 2 years of work experience managing projects in the field of education or coordinating the implementation of projects concerning multiple countries, of which preferably 1 year acquired at international level.
- Experience in managing prizes and/or competitions, or application and evaluation procedure.
- Experience in planning, preparation, and organization of workshops and meetings under the framework of education-related projects.
