ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals, for the position of Associate Manager- Natural Resource Management to support ICRISAT Development Center under Resilient Farm and Food Systems to be based at Patancheru. ICRISAT is involved in several research and development projects towards Natural Resource Management, this position is intended to undertake research in areas of Natural Resource Management and document case studies and impact stories towards generated ecosystem services. There is a requirement of 1 position where the incumbents will be based at Patancheru.

Responsibilities:
ยทย ย ย ย Undertake research on landscape hydrology by generating primary research data on runoff, vadose zone soil moisture dynamics
ยทย ย ย ย Monitor and supervise activities in soil physics lab including handing of the pressure plate apparatus and texture analysis
ยทย ย ย ย Characterization of soil physical parameters (hydraulic and retention parameters) using field and lab-based measurement techniques;
ยทย ย ย ย Manage ICRISATโs runoff and soil loss monitoring stations, data collation and analysis
ยทย ย ย ย Guide field staffs on instrumentation including DGPS, data compilation and analysis in respective project locations;
ยทย ย ย ย To organize capacity building program on water balance/ water management to various stakeholders and field functionaries including line department officials;
ยทย ย ย ย To design and execute a range of rainwater harvesting interventions in different outstation projects

Key Qualifications:
ยทย ย ย โข Masters in natural resources management/environmental engineering/agricultural engineering/related NRM disciplines with working experience of minimum 8 years to 10 years
โข ย Demonstrated skills on vadose zone soil moisture data collection, installation of runoff station; groundwater measurements;
โข ย Independently plan and carry out research on the nominated research and development project and work towards fulfilling the aims of the project;
โข ย Perform data analysis, preparation of reports and communicate this information to different stakeholders;
โข ย Demonstrate capacity to work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary team;
โข ย Perform other duties as requested by the head/theme leader IDC and RPD RFFS;
โข ย Ability to develop effective relationships and work harmoniously in outcome focused and multi-disciplinary team environment;
โข ย Willingness to travel to out station locations for instrumentation and data collection;
