About IRRI

The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is the worldโ€™s premier research organization dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippine government. International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), with the support of the Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture, and Farmersโ€™ Welfare, has established IRRI-South Asia Regional Centre (ISARC) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It is a regional facility that supports research collaboration, training, and service provision to institutions, scientists, farmers, and other stakeholders from India and other South Asian and African nations.

Job Purpose

Under general supervision of the Corporate Services Manager, this position will Plan and implement process for procurement of goods and services and maintain oversight for all official assets across different locations in IRRI India. This position will be responsible developing and maintaining relations with vendors, service providers, government institutions, clearing and forwarding agents and other key stakeholders. Leading procurement by ensuring most cost effective means while adhering to defined policies and regulations will be key for this position while maximizing on tax benefits for the Institute as an International organization.

This position is based at ISARC, Varanasi and will only be filled by the permanent residents of India.
