The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center is seeking for an innovative & multi skilled candidate to join its headquarters in Battaramulla, Sri Lanka as an Assistant Human Resources Officer.

The Assistant Human Resources Officer will perform a wide range of administrative tasks and provide support to the operations of the Human Resources (HR) department, primarily in the capacity development section, supporting Training and Development activities, and the performance management process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performance Management and Talent Development,

Support IWMI\u2019s training and development activities and maintain accurate and up-to-date information in IWMI\u2019s learning platform. Assist in the development and coordination of training programs to address employee learning needs, including maintaining an up-to-date training calendar for IWMI. Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, venue arrangement, and material preparation. Track and maintain training records, ensuring compliance with IWMI policies and industry regulations. Manage training-related documentation, including course materials, evaluations, and attendance records. Assist in the evaluation of training effectiveness and suggest improvements to enhance the learning experience. Respond to employee inquiries related to training and development opportunities. Process payments related to approved training and capacity development activities. Assist in following up on the completion of IWMI\u2019s performance management process, including users of Tool - 2 and hosted staff. Maintain accurate performance records and assist in generating reports for management review. Provide various periodic and ad hoc reports related to training and performance processes. Ensure up-to-date information across reference materials and other user platforms.

Fellowships and Internships,

Assist in the coordination of IWMI\u2019s internship and fellowship program, managing the life cycle of interns from recruitment and hiring to departure from the organization. Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, databases, and documentation for internship and fellowship programs at IWMI. Process payments, primarily related to internships, fellowships, and clear commitments related to internships. Perform periodic audits of internship and training files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Provide various periodic and ad hoc reports related to internships and fellowships.

General,

Provide clerical and administrative support to the HR department. Assist with HR communications in various publications and events. Support the planning and execution of special events, such as organization-wide HR meetings, employee recognition events, and other HR-related events. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Essential,

Bachelor\u2019s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, with/or Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) or a recognized institution. Six months to two years of HR administrative experience in a demanding HR environment. Experience in working with databases, generating reports, and producing accurate information in the form of tables, spreadsheets, and graphics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Essential,

Proficient understanding of human resources functions. Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Service-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. Excellent oral and written language skills in English, including effective listening and strong verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.

Desirable,

Experience working in an international organization. Familiarity with Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

This is a nationally recruited position and only Sri Lankan nationals will be considered. IWMI offers a competitive salary and benefits package, inclusive of health insurance, life insurance, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, and long-term disability coverage. The duration of the contract will initially be for a period of three years with the possibility of extension.
