The Europeana Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation \nthat, as part of the Europeana Initiative, stewards the common European\n data space for cultural heritage. With staff based in five countries, our international team operates \nin a hybrid working culture. Our team based in the Netherlands has the \nflexibility to come to work at our office or to work remotely. Our main \noffice is based in the National Library of the Netherlands, next to The \nHague Central Station. Our teams based abroad work fully remotely and \nparticipate occasionally in meetings and events in The Hague office.\n

The role\n

We are currently seeking an API partnerships lead who will play a key\n role in promoting the reuse of cultural heritage data through \nEuropeana's products and services, particularly its APIs, to a diverse \nrange of audience groups, including those in research, education, media,\n tourism and AI. This position is central to strengthening Europeana's \necosystem of data reuse by building strategic partnerships, engaging \nwith API and AI developer communities, and supporting customers in \nmaximising the value of our API offerings.\n

As API partnerships lead, you will lead the development of B2B and \nB2C partnerships that demonstrate the value of open cultural heritage \ndata. You will coordinate an outreach programme aimed at increasing \nawareness, understanding, and uptake of the Europeana APIs across \ndiverse user groups.\n

You will work closely with internal teams, including the Audience \nEngagement team, the Platform and Services team and the Service \nExperience, to ensure seamless laboration, user satisfaction, and \nproduct improvement. You will also contribute to API documentation, \ntraining materials, and promotional campaigns to foster a vibrant API \nuser community.\n

Key responsibilities\n

Identify and develop compelling use cases that demonstrate the \nvalue of cultural heritage data and promote the reuse of Europeana's \ndata and APIsPromote Europeana's offer in terms of data, \nproducts and services to relevantย audiences with a focus on B2B \npartnerships (commercial and non-commercial organisations)Build and maintain strategic partnerships to expand Europeana's reach, data and APIs usageLead API outreach strategies, including campaigns, hackathons, pilots, and community initiativesWork\n directly with customers to assess needs, gather requirements, and \npresent solutions based on Europeana's products & servicesSupport API users with documentation, training resources, onboarding workflows, and ongoing engagementMaintain a customer relationship management (CRM) approach to track engagement and satisfactionSupport\n the improvement of Europeana's data products to suit audiences' \nneedsย by gathering user requirements, reviewing best practices and \ndeveloping a feedback loop with the Europeana products teamsShare success stories, case studies, and impact narratives through editorial and promotional content.\n

Knowledge and Experience required:\n

At least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant fieldMinimum three years' work experience in business, product development or product marketingStrong understanding of data structures, APIs, AI, and their role in modern technology and businessExperience in market research and analysis, strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to assess customers' needs, processes and technology environments, and recommend solutionsAbility to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners at various levelsStrong interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional team environmentExperience with customer relationship management systems (e.g. Zoho CRM)Excellent English language skills\n
