Job Summary:

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks an Administrative Assistant for a one-year, renewable appointment in its Tajikistan Office. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and support to the In Country-Facilitator for NDC Implementation in Tajikistan. This position is based in Dushanbe, Tajikistan and interested applicants must have work authorization to work in Tajikistan.

Essential Duties:

Specific Duties include but are not limited to:

Assist the In-Country Facilitator in supporting Tajikistan and the NDC Partnership Support Unit in initiating NDC Partnership in-country engagement. Assist the In-Country Facilitator in coordinating, tracking, and monitoring the support provided by development partners on the NDC Implementation Plan and populating and regularly updating Tajikistanโ€™s monitoring/reporting tool for climate finance. Assist the In-Country Facilitator in developing a map of the policy system, partners, institutions, resources, and stakeholders involved in NDC implementation. Assist the In-Country Facilitator with a process for selecting the most appropriate implementing and development partner/s for each action/priority and supporting the identification of roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder. Assist the In-Country Facilitator on consulting with the Support Unit to document changes in the operating context and provide support to the government and stakeholders in decision-making processes. Assist the In-Country Facilitator in providing international and national country-specific multistakeholder NDC dialogues and meetings/conferences. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and experience:

High school diploma plus one year experience climate/environment and sustainable development in Tajikistan. Demonstrable experience working in climate change tasks in Tajikistan including, but not limited to, mitigation and adaptation action, government policy and legal frameworks, MRV, M&E systems, and results-based management; Demonstrated skills in managing and aligning diverse groups of stakeholders, including development agencies, non-state actors / civil society, financial institutions, the private sector, and others; Excellent writing, editing, digital, and oral communication skills (English, Russian and Tajik); Proficiency in English and Russian; Proficiency in Tajik is an asset.

Physical Demand & Work Environment:

Employee will sit in an upright position for a long period of time. Employee will lift between 0-10 pounds. Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing computer terminal; extensive reading.
