As a member of the Super Proton Synchrotron vacuum team, your role will involve participating in the mechanical interventions and acceptance test of vacuum components.

Your primary responsibilities will include the following tasks:

Mechanical assembly of vacuum components, sub-assemblies, etc., including leak detection and acceptance (quality control) of components prior to installation;Participation to the installation of vacuum components in the SPS tunnel including the pumpdown, leak detection and commissioning;Participation in the organisation of the logistics and procurement of vacuum chambers and other vacuum equipment;Documentation of the acceptance tests and interventions.

Who we are looking for

Skills and/or knowledge

Knowledge of building mechanical assembly and design;Maintenance of mechanical equipment;Ability to work in team;Previous vacuum knowledge (i.e. leak detection, pressure measurement, etc.) will be an asset.

This job requires:

Work in Radiation Areas;Interventions in underground installations; A valid driving license;Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.You have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
