2024 Graduate Internship Programme (Insurance and Risk)
The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) is looking for recent graduates to join the 2024 Bank for International Settlements (BIS) cohort of Graduate Interns. This is an 11-month internship that will allow you to use the knowledge you gained during your studies in a professional environment. About the IAIS
The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) is the global standard setting body for insurance supervision. Our mission is to promote effective and globally consistent supervision of the insurance industry for the benefit and protection of policyholders and to contribute to global financial stability. We are an independent association of more than 200 insurance supervisors covering 97 percent of the world insurance market. We are hosted by the Bank for International Settlements, in Basel, Switzerland.

Purpose of the Internship Programme:
The programme is aimed at enriching your work experience in order to help you in your pursuit of your next step, whether to a higher educational degree or a position at another organisation.

Programme location: Basel, Switzerland
Programme start date: October 2024
Principal accountabilities:
- In close collaboration with policy experts, contribute to the publications and meeting materials.
- Support research and analysis of data from a wide range of sources.
- Contribute to analysis examining potential vulnerabilities in the financial system.
- Work to support implementation of sound regulatory and supervisory approaches worldwide.
- Create graphs and tables for use in publications and at key meetings on global financial topics.
Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Bachelorโs or masterโs degree in a relevant field completed in 2023 or 2024
- Strong analytical skills
- Data processing and visualisation skills
- Drafting skills in English
- Exposure to topics such as risk, insurance, financial stability analysis, financial regulation and supervision, fintech, crisis management and/or climate-related financial risks would be an advantage.
What we offer:
The contract is for 11 months (non-renewable). This is a paid internship, and we cover health insurance, support with relocation, and return travel, as well as accommodation in Basel.
