ContextUVS is working in the Vidarbha region of India, where every eight hours, one farmer has committed suicide since 2006. Our organisation's project, 'Psychiatric Rehabilitation of Farmers', is dedicated to addressing this issue. Through this project, we are giving doorstep services of mental health to the beneficiaries through early identification and detection of mental illness. To do this, we can use the PHQ-12 questionnaire (a tool to detect mental illness disorders) available on the website that our organisation's employees and beneficiaries may use. The mentally ill patients thus identified will be given free treatment in the Civil Hospital for free. Reaching out to the masses, bringing ease and convenience in the identification of vulnerable beneficiaries, and achieving sustainability of the project are some of the challenges we are confronting, which may be better addressed through a better website. The contribution of Online Volunteers in website development will help us to develop a comprehensive website dedicated to mental health that will help the masses to preliminarily know their mental illness, get helpline contacts of entities working in mental health and get aware of various mental health services and related updates. This will extend the organisationโs reach to the beneficiaries and stakeholders. The selected Online Volunteers will get an opportunity to utilise their expertise and skill set to see the on-ground impact of their contribution, which contributes to SDG3 on Good Health and Well-being.
Task DescriptionOur organisation focuses on mental health, agriculture, education, and environmental themes, and we are currently developing a dedicated website for this initiative. We are seeking Online Volunteers to assist with the 2 main following tasks: Design Support: - Design and develop wireframes and mockups for web pages - Create and optimise images using Adobe Photoshop or similar tools - Ensure designs are mobile-friendly and accessible Web Development Support: - Implement responsive layouts using HTML5 and CSS3 - Ensure designs are mobile-friendly and accessible - Collaborate with team members to translate visual concepts into functional web pages While experience with content management systems (CMS) like WordPress is highly preferred, it is not mandatory. We have already prepared the content, structure, and design for the website, enabling Online Volunteers to start on these tasks. Tasks will be assigned to selected volunteers based on their expertise in the specific areas mentioned. Onboarding meetings, followed by weekly meetings, will be held to provide detailed guidelines on expectations and areas where Online Volunteers can contribute. There will be a WhatsApp group to facilitate communication between each other.
