ContextUN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Communicating gender data effectively is central to influencing decision-making and driving action toward equality and womenโs empowerment. To enhance the visibility and use of gender data, the Regional Office for the Arab States (ROAS) plans to produce three evidence-based infographics by the end of 2025. These infographics will transform analytical findings into accessible visual products that communicate key messages on gender equality, womenโs leadership, and emerging issues in humanitarian and development settings. The infographics will adhere to UN Womenโs regional branding and visual identity standards, ensuring a professional and consistent presentation across platforms. UN Women seeks to recruit a UN Volunteer with expertise in visual communication and data storytelling to lead the design, production, and finalization of these three infographics. The consultant will report to the Regional Programme Specialist on Evidence for Programming.
Task DescriptionUnder the supervision of the Regional Monitoring Specialist, the UN Volunteer will perform the following tasks: Content Development and Conceptualization โข Review UN Womenโs regional reports, data products, and briefs to identify priority themes and data for visualization. โข Define the visual narrative and main messages for each infographic, in consultation with the Regional Data and Communications teams. โข Develop storyboards or concept notes outlining proposed design approaches and data presentation methods.
