Situated under the Border Management Portfolio at the ICMPD Representation in Tรผrkiye, the position is assigned to the project โ€œSupporting Tรผrkiye's Efforts to Strengthen Border Management at the Eastern and South-Eastern Land Borders (SAFE)\", which aims to enhance Tรผrkiye's capability to address irregular migration by advancing technological and institutional capacity, as well as operational expertise related to the surveillance of Tรผrkiye's eastern and south-eastern land borders, while supporting project beneficiaries' adherence to international human rights standards.

The Senior Project Manager, as a substantive and specialist contributor, is responsible for the planning, development and management of innovative and complex project(s) within a specific field, as part of a portfolio of projects and/or programmes. Building on solid knowledge and experience, s/he elaborates concepts and develops new approaches to meet complex challenges while ensuring that sustainability dimensions are embedded into the full project cycle and in the development of new projects. S/he oversees the implementation, control and completion of project(s) and the management of project team(s) while remaining aligned with the strategy, goals, regulatory framework, standard administrative practices and operating procedures of ICMPD and with partner and donor agreements. S/he actively pursues effective project and capacity development and leads resource mobilisation efforts.

In this role, the Senior Project Manager will be expected to work with a team of Project Officers, Junior Project Officers and Project Assistants based in Istanbul and Ankara, under the direct supervision of the Portfolio Manager and with substantive guidance from the Head of Representation.โ€‹
