The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) is mandated by the UN

General Assembly to promote socially and environmentally sustainable towns and cities. UN-Habitat is the focal point for all urbanization and human settlement matters within the UN

This post is located in the Egypt country programme, Cairo duty station.

The Incumbent will work in close collaboration with the operations team and other

programme units/teams under UN-Habitat Egypt, as well as programme staff from other UN

agencies, UN-Habitat Headquarters, government officials, technical advisors and experts,

multilateral and bilateral donors, and civil society partners to ensure successful

Implementation of UN-Habitat programmes.

Functional Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Under the overall supervision of UN Habitatโ€™s Urban Development Programme Officer, the Programme Associate ensures effective delivery of the programme consistent with UN-Habitat rules and regulations.

For staff positions only, UNOPS reserves the right to appoint a candidate at a lower level than the advertised level of the post.

For retainer contracts, you must complete a few mandatory courses ( they take around 4 hours to complete) in your own time, before providing services to UNOPS. Refreshers or new mandatory courses may be required during your contract. Please note that you will not receive any compensation for taking courses and refreshers.
