The Impact & SDG Team is responsible for UNEP FIโ€™s impact management methodology, uniquely based on a holistic consideration of the three pillars of sustainable development, and embodied in the Impact Protocol, the Impact Radar, a suite of Impact Mappings, Tools and Interoperability Resources. It works with the industry, thematic, and regional teams of UNEP FI, as well as a range of external partners, to normalize and mainstream holistic impact analysis and management in mainstream finance. More information available here: Impact Management Platform โ€” Manage sustainability impacts UNEP FIโ€™s Impact Team is seeking a Junior Technical Programme Associate, Impact & SDGs to support its various research and technical activities. Specific tasks and responsibilities: This is a technical support role whose responsibilities will focus on: 1. Research & analytics: โ€ข Stay abreast of relevant developments in the sustainable finance / impact management field and prepare briefings for the team โ€ข Conduct research as required to support the issuance of the iterated Sector/Impact Map โ€ข Conduct research and support interoperability mapping work as required 2. Resource / Tool building: โ€ข Conduct testing of ESRS Disclosure Module iterations and support programming efforts as required. โ€ข Set up/test interactive functions of iterated Sector/Impact Map 3. Implementation Support: โ€ข Help with technical assistance/member engagement Outputs and Deliverables: โ€ข Research and co-building to support the iteration of the Sector/Impact Map โ€ข Tested and consolidated functionalities of the iterated Sector/Impact Map โ€ข Research and data-gathering in support of the ESRS CoP sessions โ€ข Tested and consolidated specified segments of the UNEP FI / ESRS Disclosure Module and other items of the ESRS Interoperability Packagel โ€ข Research and data-gathering to support interoperability work (GRI, Human Rights, TNFD) โ€ข Answering user questions as part of the teams implementation support activities โ€ข Briefings on sustainable finance / impact management developments and resources The consultant shall be under the overall supervision of the Head UNEP FI and report directly to the Impact Team Lead. Qualifications/special skillsAcademic background: A bachelorโ€™s degree in international relations, business, finance, development, humanities or a related field. A masterโ€™s degree may be accepted in lieu of a bachelorโ€™s degree, provided the candidate has 0 years of experience. Experience: At least 2 yearsโ€™ experience in research and analytics in the field of business and sustainability. LanguagesLanguages: English is a working language of UNEP FI. Knowledge of other United Nations languages is an asset. Additional InformationSkills & knowledge: Excellent research and analytical skills and capacity to understand complex / multi-facetted issues. Strong written and presentation skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with professionals across different projects and teams. Strong organisational and project management skills, as well as attention to detail. Advanced skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with the main approaches to impact measurement and management, including the relevant standards, norms and frameworks, is expected.
