Background:

Inย line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-2027), and the UN Women Nepalโs current Strategic Note (SN) 2023-2027, UN Women Nepal has identified โsocial norm change and gender based violenceโ and โgender responsive inclusive governanceโ as its key priorities highlighted in Outcome 1.2 โBy 2027, more people, especially women, youth, children, and the most marginalized and poor, increasingly participate in and benefit from equitably improved quality social services at federal, provincial, and local levelsโ and Outcome 1.4 โBy 2027, more people, especially women, youth, and the most marginalized and poor increasingly participate in and benefit from coordinated, inclusive, accessible, participatory, transparent, and gender-responsive governance, access to justice and human rights at federal, provincial, and local levelsโ respectively. In the current SN, the Outcome 1.2 is merged with the Outcome 1.4 and the overall thematic area is now named at Gender Responsive Inclusive Governance (GRIG) Thematic Area.ย
Reporting to the Programme Specialist, the Programme Analyst will be responsible for supporting the GRIG Thematic Area for managing certain components of the project/programme in close collaboration with local women rights organisations and local government.
Scope of Work:
Day to day management of the assigned project components and partners (women rights organisations on feminist movement building for social norm change; collaboration with the local government units) under relevant programme/project in the GRIG Thematic Area Partners management (Non-government and Government), monitoring and reporting from the result-based management approach throughout the programme/project cycles under the GRIG Thematic Area;ย Responsible for day-to-day management, administration, financial monitoring, operational related tasks assigned under assigned components ofย relevant programmes/projects; Responsible for ensuring that the assigned components of programme/project (related to women rights organisations on feminist movement building for social norm change; collaboration with the local government units)ย produces the results specified in the project document, to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost; Manage programme/projects appraisal and evaluation requirements;ย Contribute/support in writing the quality donor and internal reports from the result-based management approach;ย Lead the development of relevant terms of reference (ToR) when needed, design of the Call for Proposal and its dissemination among networks , lead the selection of partners following UN Women's rules and regulations; and Responsible for strategic planning process for the project and ensures its implementation in accordance with the signed project/programme documents; Provide capacity building support to UN Women Nepal Country Office (NCO) partners Provide capacity strengthening support to UN Womenโs partners for the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the assigned components of programme/project on GRIG; and Implement and monitor capacity strengthening initiatives of assigned programme/project partners Establish and strengthen strategic partnerships with key stakeholders from government (the local government in three provinces and CSOs (womenโs rights organisations for feminist movement building for social norm change related project/programme) Build and maintain close liaisons with relevant local government units in three provinces and manage partnership;ย Finalise the capacity strengthening related interventions with the local government based on the findings of the need assessment study to be rolled out soon under the project; andย Maintain close collaboration and coordination on a day-to-day basis with women rights organisations under feminist movement building for social norm change related programme/project Support the Thematic Area for the resource mobilization on GRIG Support the GRIG Thematic Area for the resource mobilization by development of concept notes, thematic and programmatic briefs, participating in internal and relevant external discussions/meetings; and Support the GRIG thematic area on assessing and analysing information on potential donors for resource mobilisation.ย Manage and design the development of relevant knowledge products Provide inputs to policy recommendations and guidance to strategic planning and positioning on GRIG; good practices and learnings from relevant programmes/projects; Contribute to develop relevant briefing notes, background papers, summaries, correspondence, and knowledge products on GRIG related programmes/projects; and Identify promising practices, technical expertise in GRIG related programmes/projects from the responsible projects/programmesCompetencies :

Minimum Qualifications: Education and Certification:
Masterโs degree or equivalent in gender studies, international relations, international development, sociology, international law or other relevant social science fields is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in managing; monitoring and reporting Governance related programmes/projects with a particular focus on gender; inclusion; womenโs leadership and participation; social norm change; movement building;ย Experience working with, and building partnerships with governments, donors and civil society organizations (womenโs group/women rights organisations with intersecting identities);ย Experience of writing quality donor reports with result based management approach will be an added value; and Experience working with the UN is an asset Languages Fluency in English and Nepali is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).Statements :
