Background:
The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe promotes the implementation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as the co-operation of the Republic of Tajikistan within the OSCE framework in all three dimensions. It is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives.
The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe (POiD) is intending to conduct roster call to engage additional Cook/Dishwasher willing to serve on a short-term basis in future. The selected Cook/Dishwasher will assist the office canteen workers in their day-to-day activities.
NOTE: The selected candidates will be placed on a roster and might be contacted as per operational need.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Under the overall supervision of the National Building Maintenance Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:
Assisting in preparing lunch in accordance with the daily menu and meal timings and serving lunch in the office's canteen five times per week;
Keeping record on and maintaining food-stuff and household supplies of the office's kitchen;
Serving refreshments and meals to visiting officials;
Cleaning all kitchen utensils on a daily basis. Washing and drying all crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils after each meal;
Disposing food wastes and packaging on a daily basis, incineration of accumulated waste at least once a week;
Cleaning of the office canteen area and disinfecting the kitchen once a week, conducting a deep cleaning once a month;
Performing other duties as required.

Necessary Qualifications:
Minimum primary education;
Minimum two (2) years of working experience in dishwashing/cooking and serving at a canteen;
Cleaning/cooking skills and knowledge of the use of kitchen equipment and utensils, cleaning material/solutions, etc.;
Knowledge of Tajik and Russian. Basic knowledge of English sufficient to understand simple instructions is required;
Team player with good communication skills;
Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
Remuneration Package:
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 444.08 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme.
Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered. This depends on factors such as relevant experience exceeding minimum requirements or higher previous remuneration. Any such request by a candidate must be reviewed and approved by the OSCE before the appointment.

The mandatory retirement age at the OSCE is 65 years for contracted positions at the general service, professional and director level. The Organization shall apply an age limit of 62 years at the time of appointment as the incumbent selected is normally expected to carry out the contractual obligation of two years.
