Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a global project funded by the U.S Government and the U.S. Presidentโs Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among all at-risk populations; strengthen global health security (GHS), including outbreak response; expand improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), address malaria; improve nutrition and promote health systems strengthening (HSS) including supply chain management. In Haiti, EpiC implements HIV, MNCH and nutrition activities, working closely with the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).
Job Summary
FHI 360 is seeking applications for the position of Technical Officer, Community MNCH/Nutrition, to be based in the West region in Port au Prince. The EpiC Community MNCH/Nutrition Officer will provide technical support and oversight to the implementation of the Haiti EpiC Project for community MNCH/Nutrition activities in the Western region. The primary responsibility of the Community MNCH/Nutrition Officer is to ensure successful implementation of the community MNCH/Nutrition elements of the EpiC work plan and achievement of the projectโs targets and goals.
The EpiC Community MNCH/Nutrition Officer provides technical oversight and assistance in the following areas: life-saving interventions for pregnant women, newborns, and children including antenatal care (ANC), postnatal /postpartum care, emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC), integrated community case management (iCCM), the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) program, infant and young child feeding, and screening and treatment for acute malnutrition.
This position will ensure that community MNCH efforts are evidence-based, community-driven and will contribute to the deliverables in the EpiC implementation plan. This position is critical for the development of quality and evidence-based approaches for MNCH services, with a focus on ANC, postnatal /postpartum care, EmONC, iCCM, EPI, infant and young child feeding, and screening and treatment for acute malnutrition services. This position will report to the Community MNCH/Nutrition Senior Officer who will have oversight of all community technical components of the work plan.
The position will be based in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and work out of the FHI 360 Country office. Preference is for a Haitian national.
Accountabilities
Supports the development, implementation and oversight of community ANC, postnatal /postpartum care, iCCM, EPI, EmONC, infant and young child feeding, and screening and treatment for acute malnutrition services activities in the annual EpiC work plans.
Collaborates with sub-partners and the Ministry of Public Health & Population (MSPP) at the departmental level to design, implement and monitor community MNCH and Nutrition models including, but not limited to ANC, postnatal/postpartum care, EmONC, iCCM
