The purpose of the USAID Egyptian Pioneers (UEP) activity is to build a more inclusive and capable workforce that elevates sectors critical to Egypt's economic growth. Under this program Egyptian nationals will get scholarships and trainings in universities in Egypt as well as USA. For trainings and education in US universities, FHI 360 will serve as the organization responsible for US university selection and placement of the scholarship recipients in different programs. UEP is being implemented with close collaboration and cooperation of American University of Cairo which is the prime recipient of this award from USAID.

Job Summary:

Technical Requirements:

  • University Selection: In coordination with the Technical Lead, conduct research on graduate and undergraduate degree programs offered by universities related to priorities sectors identified by the Government of Egypt, and participate in the evaluation of university offerings.

  • Scholar Placement: In coordination with the Technical Lead, support scholar admissions and placement, provide information related to scholars, university program offerings and assist with coordination among scholars and universities as needed.

  • Scholar Orientation and Preparation: Support the Technical Lead to create informational materials for scholars that covers scholarsโ€™ responsibilities, academic and training expectations, and understanding of cultural and other aspects to their experience at a US university. This may also include supporting scholars and universities with the design and implementation of training programs.

  • Scholar Monitoring: Work with the program team and university partners to track and monitor the scholars' performance and support scholars to manage their study abroad experience through frequent check in and troubleshooting support.

  • General technical support: Support technical implementation in accordance with FHI 360 and AUC guidelines and policies and USAID regulations.
