Project Background

Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), a global project funded by the U.S Government and the U.S. Presidentโ€™s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), that provides strategic technical assistance and direct service delivery to achieve HIV epidemic control among all at-risk populations; strengthen global health security (GHS), including outbreak response; expand improve maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH), address malaria, improve nutrition; and promote health systems strengthening (HSS) including supply chain management. In Haiti, EpiC implements HIV, MNCH and nutrition activities, working closely with the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the EpiC Haiti Project Director the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) and Nutrition Technical Advisor II will closely work with EpiC headquarters (HQ) and in-country MNCH and nutrition teams, United States Government (USG) personnel, implementing partners, and the Ministry of Health to provide guidance on the delivery of USG -endorsed life-saving interventions for pregnant women, newborns, and children including antenatal care (ANC), postnatal/postpartum care, emergency obstetric and newborn care (EmONC), integrated community case management (iCCM), infant and young child feeding, screening and treatment for acute malnutrition, among others.

The MNCH and Nutrition Technical Advisor II is an advanced subject matter expert who will oversee the MNCH and Nutrition components of the program, directing and advising other technical staff members. The Senior Technical Advisor will provide oversight to the day-to-day technical and operational aspects of MNCH and nutrition and integrated health projects and will supervise technical staff members to ensure that project activities are on track with work plans. This position will inform project design and implementation, drawing from their technical expertise in MNCH and nutrition. The MNCH and Nutrition Technical Advisor II will lead the development and revision of best practice documents in Haiti, monitor budgets in collaboration with finance staff, and will be expected to coordinate and work with a diverse group of partners, such as the Ministry of Health, international and national development partner organizations, and United States Government (USG) personnel to complete work.
