ย Context
Under the direct supervision of the National Monitoring&Evaluation Officer and the overall supervision of the Head of the Programme Support Unit, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive support to the Climate Change and Migration Data (CCMD) Project implemented by the Unit at IOM Egypt.
The M&E Assistant will support the implementation of the CCMD Programmeโs MEAL Plan at the mission level, helping to integrate monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning processes into all project components. The role contributes to systematic planning and high-quality data collection, validation, analysis, reporting, and programme-wide learning, in close collaboration with project teams, CCMD focal points, and the CCMD MEAL and Reporting Officer at the coordination level.
The Climate Change and Migration Data Programme for North, East, West and Central Africa, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, aims to address the interconnected challenges of climate change, environmental degradation, and human mobility in Egypt. The project implements key activities to strengthen community resilience and effectively respond to these pressing issues.
By developing sustainable and impactful mechanisms, the project seeks to empower vulnerable communities to cope with climate change, protect migrantsโ rights, and enhance their ability to withstand environmental changes and degradation. In line with IOMโs approach, it focuses on providing technical support and resources to strengthen public awareness and equip communities with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate climate-related risks.
Through innovative strategies, the project aims to deliver tangible results by enhancing preparedness, reducing risks, and fostering social, economic, and health resilience in the face of an evolving climate landscape.

- Assist in the coordination of qualitative and quantitative data collection processes such as household surveys, focus group discussions (FGD), exit interviews, and similar activities, including strengthening capacity of enumerators in qualitative and quantitative data collection.
- Support in the development of M&E plans, logical frameworks and mechanisms for facilitating accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) during project inception.
- Support in the development of appropriate qualitative and quantitative monitoring, tracking systems, tools, and templates that enhance monitoring of project outputs and quality, generate quality evidence on project effectiveness and prepare data for decision-making processes.ย
- Draft summary reports that include graphs, charts, tables, narratives as requested to fulfil internal and external reporting requirements.ย
- Verify the quality of data collected from the field based on validity, timeliness, precision, reliability.
- Assist in organizing routine training to project staff on monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning basics and support project teams to develop targets.ย
- Organize, collect, compile and document all program data and files, ensuring that all records are properly organized and stored.
- Conduct regular field visits to project sites, meeting with project counterparts and beneficiaries to follow up on activities and provide verbal and written reports.ย
- Provide technical assistance to facilitate the application of tools for Humanitarian Accountability (Complaints and response mechanisms) and mechanism of reporting for assigned projects.

- Bachelorโs degree in Development, Management, Political, Law, Social Sciences, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
- Secondary school certificate/degree with five years of relevant professional experience
ย Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.ย Experience- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Operational and field experience in data collection and monitoring and evaluation.ย
- Knowledge and understanding of case management, data collection and reporting tools.
- Experience in the field of Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) or Humanitarian Repatriation (HRAP) of stranded migrants to countries of origin.
ย Skills- Strong communication skills is essential.
- Knowledge of protection and determination of vulnerabilities.
- Strong knowledge of computer applications, especially MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access.
- Knowledge of IOMโs Mimosa system is an advantage.
ย Languages- Fluency in English and Arabic is required (oral and written)
