Role and responsibilities

The purpose of the Support Coordinator is to coordinate the support functions at an Area Office and off load the Area Manager on support functions.ย 

Generic responsibilitiesย 

  1. Lineย management for support staff such as Finance, HR & Admin and Logisticsย 
  2. Member of the Area Management Group
  3. Compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and handbooks and donor/auditor requirements
  4. Provide input on operational support to Area Plan of Action, and to coordinate and align operational support with programme plans at Area level
  5. Responsible for ensuring quality support to project implementation.
  6. Facilitate Area Support Budget, area level budgets, including support cost
  7. Responsible for Implementation of new country specific technical SOPs, guidelines and tools in Area (HR, Logistic/ICT and Finance)
  8. Responsible for technical capacity building of support staff (HR, Logistic/ICT and Finance)
  9. Promote the rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategyย 
  10. Actively promote PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served by NRC.

  11. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the positionโ€™s responsibilitiesKnowledge about own leadership skills/profileย Fluency in English, both written and verbalย

Knowledge of the humanitarian context in Libyaย ย Experience of managing and leading teamsย ย Experience of coordination between multiple departments and officesย ย Able to manage and meet multiple deadlines and see through completion of tasksAbility to problem solveย
