Org. Setting and ReportingThis position is in the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) Kabul, Afghanistan. The Supply Assistant reports to the Chief Centralized Warehousing. The incumbent performs various routine tasks related to the management and movement of supplies that contribute to the timely and effective accomplishment of warehousing services within the mission. Responsibilities- Receives authorized on-line requisitions for stores' supplies from Chiefs of Section and Heads of Units; assists in verifying the requisitions in accordance with sections'/units' monthly requirements. - Assists in monitoring stock of supplies in the stores; assists in conducting regular stock taking of expendable items in the warehouse. - Performs cycle count of inventory, equipment, and fixed assets listed in the unit stock and ensures that Umoja system is up to date. - Prepares scheduling of material and equipment deliveries to field offices and coordinates return of equipment from field offices to the warehouse. - Assists Receipt and Inspection Unit (R&I) in receiving and inspecting goods delivered by vendors and managed by CW Unit. - Assists in conducting periodic inventory of serialized and non-serialized property managed by warehouse and updates records in the system by processing transfer orders (TO) for purpose of transparency and accountability. - Assists in preparing write-off requests for property, which is lost, obsolete or damaged. - Assists in raising request for write-off in the system. - Identifies issues and implements solutions as instructed by the supervisor. - Generates relevant status reports. - Maintains and monitors relevant databases (e.g. stock levels of various supply items). - Organizes, and maintains unit files and Section's manuals. - Performs other duties as required.
