The Salary for this position is INR 60,000/- per month, also employee will be covered with medical benefits as per WFP 's Plan. All Tax liability for payments from this contract are to be borne by the subscriber.JOB PURPOSE
In coordination with WFP Country Office and under the supervision of Joint Secretary (DFPD) or as decided by her/him, the Programme Support Associate will support in providing technical assistance in the areas of operational reseach, warehouse management and data analytics. In addition to activities supporting supply chain provide support in management and coordination of food security demonstration projects/pilots/scale-up in partner states/Union Territories/Government of India as per WFPโs strategy by supporting solution customization/modification, review of process and policies currently being practiced and suggest/take necessary corrective action for maintaining smooth functioning and achievement of targeted performance of these efforts.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Not all inclusive)
Under the direct supervision of the Director/Joint Secretary, Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India and under the technical supervision by Head of the Social Protection and Supply Chain Unit, WFP New Delhi the SSA Consultant Support will be responsible to perform the following duties:
Provide technical support in the design and coordination of projects/pilots as in the areas of supply chain:
- Support in providing technical assistance for improvements in existing supply chain software systems, through assessments, reviews and use of data analytic.
- Support the overall development and application of optimization tools and methodologies
- Support in Designing and implementing supply chain strategies, standards, and guidance to improve supply chain performance, reduce cost, or improve responsiveness.
- Perform transportation cost analysis, data analysis, optimisation analysis of government supply chain networks.
- Prepare training material and undertake capacity strengthening of PDS stakeholders in applying optimization/ analysis tools effectively.
Provide project management support for monitoring of Supply Chain Projects and relevant data analysis:
- Provide efficient coordination with Government Officials and ensure regular monitoring of the Supply Chain Optimisation Projects. The candidate must be able to develop regular reports, presentations and letters as on when required by the Unit.
- Prepare a variety of elaborated reports and substantial data analysis (e.g. resource utilization, programme status, performance) and make recommendations to supervisors, ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control
- Review existing processes and policies for mapping requirements, customization of solutions as per requirements for developing concept notes, proposals, project planning, financial feasibility and mapping of resources.
Provide regular updates to other Country Office units in terms of Country Briefs, Executive Briefs, and inputs for analysis, evaluation and/or any such requirements that may arise. Perform any other related duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related in any of the following disciplines: Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications, Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, Business Administration
EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years of progressively responsible professional experience working in the related areas of large-scale technology/e-governance solutions with government or a development agency, in the area of Operations Research, Advanced Data Analytics, MIS design & development, etc. for best practice documentation, capacity strengthening & data-driven decision making.
- Experience in working independently with minimum supervision, often in fluid and ambiguous situations will be required.
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills required, including strong professionally communication ability
- Ability to manage stakeholders and build rapport to achieve the project goals & objectives
- Be an excellent team player with an ability to work collaboratively, share information, and build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds while focusing on impact and results.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and simultaneously manage tasks in an independent manner
- Exhibit the maturity and presence required to effectively participate and contribute in meetings with senior government officials
KNOWLEDGE:
- Understanding of the Indian Government bureaucracy and TPDS operations will be an advantage. Sound knowledge of project planning and operations management, preferably in the IT transformation or e-governance space
LANGUAGE
Fluency in spoken and written English and Hindi is a key requirement.
