Work LocationMinsk Expected durationPart-time, 2 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe UN Secretary-General launched on 1 January 2019 a bold and new global reform which repositioned the UN Development System to deliver more effectively and efficiently with the achievement of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of this reform, UN Resident Coordinator Offices, under the leadership of an empowered and independent UN Resident Coordinator โ the highest-ranking official of the UN Development System and Representative of the UN Secretary-General at country level - support countries in the achievement of their development priorities and the attainment of the SDGs. In this context, the United Nations Resident Coordinatorโs Office in Belarus (RCO) is seeking candidates for the position of Social Media Specialist. - Contributes to strategic advocacy and programme communications in support of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF). - Ensure overall supervision of UN digital engagement through social media accounts using innovative approaches and activities to attract new audiences. - Contributes to strategic advocacy communications in support of the UNSDCF: - Contributes to the promotion of advocacy and communications as a tool for a participatory approach to UNSDCF implementation and monitoring; - Monitors and analyzes the media in the areas related to the UN's mandates in the country, as well as other issues relevant to the UN brand and positioning; - Ensure overall supervision of UN digital engagement through social media accounts using innovative approaches and activities to attract new audiences and focusing on the achievement of the following results: - Maintain and increase UN in Belarus social media reach by expanding presence at all relevant social media platforms and messengers based on corporate requirements and UN Country Team (UNCT) and UN Communication Group (UNCG) needs; - Provide overall supervision of UN social media channels ensuring consistency of the materials and accuracy of the content; - Create digital communication materials to support and drive online audience engagement; - Manage web and social media calendar and content plans of key themes and coverage schedules according to the calendar; - Identify new influencers and bloggers with high levels of engagement and reach in social media, as well as an alignment with UN core values and mission, to further dissemination materials and content generated by the organization; - Support and coordinate development, promotion and maintenance of public information campaigns; - Participate in various communications and advocacy events and campaigns to generate (live) social media content. - Contribute to advocacy campaign for UN International days: produce written content, including blog posts, participant stories for social media platforms. Initial contract is for 2 months on a part-time basis with a possibility of extension. Qualifications/special skillsBachelor in communication, information systems and technologies or any other related field is required. At least 1 year of relevant experience in social media, public relations, communications is required. Experience in work with social media is required. Experience in work with photo and grafic redactors is required. Previous experience with international organizations is desirable. LanguagesFluency in Russian and Belarusian is required.
