1. Role and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Shelter/WASH Project Coordinator, the Shelter/WASH Technical Assistant is expected to support the day-to-day implementation of WASH and Shelter activities in urban and rural settings (water supply, wastewater, energy, construction).

Generic responsibilities
1. Implement assigned daily programmatic tasks and activities as assigned by the Project Coordinator / Technical Officer;
2. Comply with NRC programme strategy, tools, guidelines and standards;
3. Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in project activities;
4. Collaborate with relevant local authorities and stakeholders at field level as requested by the Project Coordinator / Technical Officer (i.e. local authorities, other humanitarian organizations, volunteer groups);
5. Adhere to NRC policies, guidelines and procedures;
6. Prepare and develop status reports as required by management;
7. Ensure proper filing of documents;
8. Contribute to identification of protection risks and needs in the context of the program implementation;
9. Promote the rights of IDPs in line with NRCโ€™s advocacy strategy;
10. Assist team members in performing tasks set in the shelter action plan requested by line manager/Project Manager;
11. Prepare and develop progress reports as required by management;
12. Ensure proper filing of documents and proper archiving;
13. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by line manager or PM.

Under the supervision of the Shelter/WASH Project Coordinator, guide enumerators when participating in needs assessments to identify potential project participants that could benefit from NRCโ€™s Shelter/WASH activities; ย Ensure proper sensitisation of the community about the planned activities; Provide regular suggestions on programme improvements and progress reports to the Shelter/WASH Technical Officer and Shelter/WASH Project Coordinator; Closely cooperate with other departments to ensure adequate field-level implementation of a coherent integrated programme in target areas in Ukraine; Liaise at field level with local government/stakeholders/communities to ensure NRC obtains required permissions for day-to-day project implementation; Assist the Technical Officer/Project Coordinator in the preparation of documentation required for programme payments processing; Conduct field trips as needed, liaise with project participants, and gather relevant project documentation during all activity stages; Participate/Assist in needs assessments, surveys, baseline studies, and other types of data collection;ย  Ensure abidance by his/her team with NRCโ€™s compliance rules and regulations;ย  Assist with any other duties assigned by line manager as and when required.

#2 Job responsibility: Data Quality and Information Management (30%):
Database Maintenance & Reporting:
๏‚ท Assist with the timely submission of quality data to the NRC Global Output and Outcome (GORs) Reporting Dashboard as well as reporting to cluster and other relevant organizations.
๏‚ท Follow-up with field teams, partners, and communities to identify and correct data errors.
Data Processing & Analysis:
๏‚ท Support the WASH/Shelter team with the electronic filing and archiving of project documentation.
๏‚ท Conduct basic data analysis, applying beneficiary selection criteria (including KOBO preparation) as per shelter intervention SoPs, and providing actionable insights where needed.
Assessments & Training:
๏‚ท Support in piloting and implementing of surveys and other assessments, collaborating with field teams on data entry to ensure consistency across data collection processes.
๏‚ท Collaborate with the M&E Information Management Officer in preparing reports, analyses, and other information products.

1. Professional competencies
Generic professional competencies for this position:
๏‚ท Political and cultural awareness, as well as good understanding of the current crisis in Ukraine.
๏‚ท Previous experience in a humanitarian/early recovery setting is an advantage.
๏‚ท Diplomatic and respectful communication.
๏‚ท Ability to work under pressure in compliance with basic security rules, highest standards of ethics and integrity

Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
๏‚ท Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
๏‚ท Strong knowledge of data management and experience in data analysis.
๏‚ท Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly, MS Excel (application of formulas, processing large volume databases, etc.).
๏‚ท Knowledge of KoBo (Or similar data collection tools). Knowledge of Power BI is an asset.
๏‚ท Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian essential
๏‚ท Basic English proficiency is required (A2-B2)
๏‚ท Willingness to work in demanding, stressful situations with respect for basic security rules
