Senior Research Officer (Adv#127/2025) icddr,b is a Bangladesh-based international health research institute that strives to solve key public health problems through high-quality scientific research and innovation. icddrb as a value-based organization encourages women and people with disabilities.

A multi-study initiative, focused on advancing research and evidence generation in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) aims to strengthen research capacity and generate actionable evidence to inform SRHR policies and programs. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) activities play a critical role in assessing research progress, ensuring data quality, promoting accountability, and capturing lessons learned to improve health outcomes.

The MEL team supports multiple research studies by tracking implementation progress, synthesizing results, and developing tools and indicators to measure performance and impact. Through proper documentation, the team contributes to institutional learning and continuous improvement of research and program delivery.

Position Description:

The Senior Research Officer will be reporting to the Project Coordinator and responsible for collecting data; process, analyze and interpret data; also providing technical support in writing scientific reports, protocol and manuscripts within the guidelines of research protocol and also within the organization's values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in following activities โ€“

Track progress of indicators, prepare monitoring dashboards framework, and summarize study achievements; Qualitative interview of the employee engaged in the projects Preparation of narrative project reports and workplan; Support organization of learning and reflection sessions, stakeholder meetings, and dissemination events; Identify new research ideas; Assist in developing research proposal as per guidance of supervisor; Conduct literature review, analyze data and draw scientific inferences; Develop and submit manuscript for peer-reviewed journals; Prepare presentation slides and present findings at external platforms such as conferences and seminars as well as relevant stakeholders; Carry out other research-related necessities as and when required. Required qualifications and experience: Masterโ€™s degree in Public Health or Anthropology from a reputed university with an excellent academic record; Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; Must have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to identify substantive problems that threaten the research activities and the creative capacity to resolve these problems. S/he should be proactive, dynamic, and capable of working independently. Location: Dhaka

Contract Type and duration:
Short term Contractual Service Agreement (CSA) basis; duration will be 6 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance. Salary & benefits: TK.79,569/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances; Festival allowance, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
