Background:
The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from arms control, counter-terrorism, and border management projects to disaster risk reduction, good governance, trafficking in human beings, and gender equality. Project funding is secured through a combination of the OSCE's regular budget and extrabudgetary contributions (ExB) pledged by donors via formal agreements.
Under the Politico-Military Department, the European Union (EU) Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI) extra-budgetary funded project โStabilisation of Tajikistan's Southern Border Region with Afghanistanโ (hereafter FPI Project) seeks to address challenges emanating from Afghanistan through capacity building of the Tajik Border Troops (TBT) via 3 components: training, equipment provision and construction/refurbishment.
Please note that this is an extra-budgetary post and initial appointment will be for one year. Further extension of the post is subject to availability of extra-budgetary funds.

Remuneration Package:
Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 1,062.33 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the Cigna medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of the applicable OSCE salary scale. In exceptional cases, an initial appointment at up to Step 3 may be considered. This depends on factors such as relevant experience exceeding minimum requirements or higher previous remuneration. Any such request by a candidate must be reviewed and approved by the OSCE before the appointment.

The mandatory retirement age at the OSCE is 65 years for contracted positions at the general service, professional and director level. The Organization shall apply an age limit of 62 years at the time of appointment as the incumbent selected is normally expected to carry out the contractual obligation of two years.
