Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S. or hybrid of these two options.

Position Overview

The โ€˜Senior Fundraising Data Specialistโ€™ serves a critical function at Partners In Health (PIH) as the lead for all data analysis efforts supporting the design and implementation of data-driven fundraising strategies. As a member of the Resource Generation Branch, the โ€˜Senior Fundraising Data Specialistโ€™ will apply their analytical expertise to track, analyze, and interpret data trends to inform strategic decisions that ensure we reach our ambitious fundraising goals. In addition to expert analytical skills, a successful candidate must also be highly detail-oriented and have strong technical experience using donor databases (preferably Salesforce) and business intelligence (BI) reporting tools (preferably Power BI). The immediate focus of the Senior Fundraising Data Specialist will be to support the design and implementation of our new data-driven revenue projections methodology, working in close partnership with the Senior Director, Prospect Management and Research and Managing Director of Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the data analytics and BI reporting expert for the Resource Generation Branch.
  • Determine best practices for data entry around portfolio-managed donors and enforce data discipline among frontline fundraisers.
  • Develop revenue reports, fundraising key performance indicator dashboards, and predictive analytics to drive donor acquisition and engagement strategies.
  • Build on existing revenue forecasting practices to design a shared data-driven projections methodology to provide a clear revenue pipeline and help inform sophisticated fundraising strategies.
  • Collaborate with Gift Administration and Finance team colleagues to ensure that revenue data collection and reconciliation practices are optimized.
  • Work with the CRM Operations team on how to best utilize Salesforce system to support data analytic initiatives.
  • Partner with Strategic Information Systems (SIS) team to build user-friendly reports in Power BI in order to support fundraising leaders as they design and implement optimized fundraising strategies across all revenue streams (mass markets, major and principal donors, foundations, corporations, public sector partners, and legacy giving).

    Qualifications

    • Bachelorโ€™s degree and 6+ years of experience or 8+ years of equivalent experience in data analytics or predictive modeling, preferably in a non-profit setting.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Solid computer skills in a PC environment and high proficiency using donor databases (Salesforce experience preferred.)
    • Proficiency in Excel including Pivot Tables, Macros, and PowerPivot with the ability to quickly learn and implement new software applications and technologies in database management. VBA and SQL skills a plus.
    • Strong analytical curiosity and innovative problem-solving skills using a systems-thinking and data-driven approach.
    • Data visualization skills and the ability to use those skills to tell a compelling story.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects in a complex environment in accordance with departmental procedures and priorities.
    • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with culturally diverse staff across departments and countries. Able to communicate effectively with colleagues of all technical abilities.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity, maturity and good judgement.
    • Interest in social justice strongly desirable.
