Purpose of Roster:
The consultant under this Roster will support the design and delivery of joint communication plans and frameworks for multi-country and global partnerships, including coordinating communication planning across multiple markets. The role includes facilitating partnership communication workshops, developing high-quality communication assets and materials, and managing reputational risks through proactive communication strategies. The consultant will also oversee the rollout and implementation of these communication assets and frameworks in collaboration with markets.
This entails close collaboration with National Committees and country offices to mitigate reputational risks, contribute to the prevention of public relations crises, and work with internal and external stakeholders to successfully manage responses to reputational issues for UNICEFโs private sector financial and non-financial partnerships with business, foundations, high-net-worth individuals, and membership-based and faith-based organizations.
Objectives:
The primary objective is to establish a Roster to streamline and accelerate the hiring of Communication Consultants by the Communication for Partnerships Team, in order to fulfill our contractual obligations to showcase partnership recognition and the impact of UNICEFโs programmes.
Major Tasks to be accomplished:
โข Develop communication packages e.g., press releases, social media assets, key messages, Q&A documents, talking points etc. for multi-country partnerships, in close collaboration with communication focal points from relevant National Committees, regional, and country offices.
โข Organize and facilitate communication workshops/meetings for stakeholders in order to develop partnership communication frameworks and plans.
โข Manage reputational risks relating to partnerships through communication strategies.
โข Oversee the implementation of agreed communication plans and activities across countries, ensuring alignment at the global, regional, and national office levels between UNICEF and partners, including coordination across relevant teams and offices as required.
โข Support the partnership communication requirements of new high-value partners and participate in meetings to facilitate overall alignment across workstreams and offices at the global, regional, and national levels.

Qualifications/ Specialized Knowledge/Experience/ Language Skills Required
Education:
Advanced university degree (Masterโs degree of higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Arts, or related fields. A first-level university degree (Bachelorโs degree or higher), in combination with additional 2 years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Experience:
โข A minimum of five yearsโ progressive experience in the following fields: Communications, Public Relations, Account/Client Management, Sales, Marketing, Fundraising, or Advertising is required.
โข Experience working in partnership contexts, including on customer-facing partnerships, is required.
โข At least two years of experience at an international level is desirable. Previous regional or country office experience is an asset.
Language:
โข Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is considered an asset.
Others:
โข Demonstrated ability to write press releases, develop communication plans and familiarity with social media as a marketing tool are requirements.
โข Ability to work under minimal supervision is required.
โข Occasional travel may be required.
โข Familiarity with UNICEF and its systems and ways of working is an advantage.
โข The successful consultants will work mainly with countries in Europe and time zones will be taken into consideration.
Payment Schedule:
The Roster has validity for three years. However, UNICEF does not guarantee that any quantity of services will be purchased during the term of the Roster as this will depend on forthcoming needs.
