The TeamThe Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Center of Excellence (CoE) is a central functional team made up of advisors, specialists, and enabling partners (i.e., analytics, communications, project managers, and external consultants) to provide foundation-wide direction, governance, tools, and resources to drive the foundationโs DEI commitment and results.

Your Role
The Regional DEI Partner is a DEI Subject Matter Expert (SME) who will be a thought partner by providing guidance, advisory, partnership, and execution support to key stakeholders that includes but not limited to senior leadership, key partners, and functional teams for the purpose of continuous improvement of the foundationโs DEI strategic framework in India and China. This role will require proactive collaboration and vision with senior levels organization-wide to ensure common messaging, sensitivity and accountability.
The postholder will be based at the foundationโs India Country Office (ICO) in New Delhi, and report to the Seattle-based Director, DEI.
What You'll Do
Serve as a DEI leader and subject matter expert to foster an inclusive, equitable culture by contributing perspective, insights, and knowledge; take a balanced consultative and systemic approach to support and enable leadership at all levels to lead DEI culture change across the foundation.
Consult with, advise, and constructively work with senior leadership and key partners/collaborators to implement, drive progress against commitments, and deliver impact against DEI division plans in alignment to organizational strategic framework and goals.
Provide subject matter expertise on all areas of diversity, equity and inclusion from a global perspective.
Partner with a portfolio of leadership and internal partners to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into our talent management and investment making processes.
Identify, recommend, and lead adoption of effective practices for equity centered policies, initiatives, tools, and resources that support systemic change management.
Co-design and collaborate with various stakeholder groups and the DEI Learning and Development team.
Lead external consultants to develop and deploy the resources as required by the regional and country offices.
Maintain a strong awareness and knowledge base of global DEI issues and trends.

Your Experience
A degree in a relevant field with at least 10 years of experience in DEI or related field of expertise, in a senior role.
Experience designing, implementing and monitoring DEI tools, processes, learning agendas, and indicators that are aligned with organizational strategies and priorities, and drive meaningful impact.
Experience facilitating staff and manager training, dialogue sessions, learning spaces, and staff engagement initiatives.
An ability to establish leadership credibility and build trusted relationships with leaders and employees at all levels of an organization to influence approach and behavior shifts.
Thinks critically, objectively, and strategically about opportunities and develops alternate paths to solutions. Ability to be agile and re-prioritize on pressure.
An ability to connect DEI to how an organization achieves its goals.
Demonstrated ability to manage a considerable workload, achieve results and drive complex work to conclusion, including getting results through others.
Capable of analyzing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources, and building coherent, insightful narratives.
Ability to understand and influence the design of operational processes (i.e., talent management, grant making).
Operates effectively in a high pressure, political, and collaborative environment. Outstanding interpersonal skills and humility, and a demonstrated ability to work with efficiency and diplomacy, and lead and influence a wide range of individuals from diverse backgrounds and at different levels.
Ability to communicate effectively and drive change management.
Capable of using and adapting DEI expertise across multiple geographies and cultural contexts.
Other Attributes
Comfortable in a wide range of cultural, geographic and operational situations, demonstrating culturally sensitive behavior with a diverse range of people and a deep commitment to development issues and high standards of personal integrity.
Ability to travel up to 30% domestically and internationally.
Must be able to legally work in the country where this position is located without visa sponsorship.
