Terms of ReferenceUNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is offering a full-time internship with the Operations and Investments Management Section of the Private Sector Partnerships Service under the Division of External Relations at UNHCR Copenhagen.

This exciting internship is a unique opportunity to gain experience with UNHCRโ€™s PSP fundraising development activities in support of the refugee cause, as well as valuable experience working within the UN system.

Established in December 1950, UNHCR is a global organization dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for asylum seekers, refugees, returnees, internally displaced communities and stateless people. Organizational context
The Operations and Investments team sits within the Operations and Investments Management Section in the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) in the Division of External Relations (DER).

The Operations and Investments team coordinates the annual planning process and overall financial planning, monitoring, and reporting on performance in the PSP fundraising network of UNHCR offices and National Partners. The team is responsible for managing the National Growth Fund, which is the main source of investment in PSP fundraising programs. The Operations and Investments team also supports the PSP network in monitoring implementation and fundraising performance.

The position
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive team player, with a strong interest in resource management, reporting, data analysis, and refugee issues, to complete a six-eight months internship with the Operations and Investments team.

Duties and responsibilities
The internโ€™s duties and responsibilities will include:
โ€ข Assist in budget implementation planning, monitoring, and reporting tasks by using various data sources and tools to provide data insights in the form of numeric and narrative analytic reports, presentations, and other documents related to PSPโ€™s programme cycle.
โ€ข Assist in resource management activities by utilizing different data sources and tools to monitor implementation rate and support budget reallocation.
โ€ข Assist in the development and revision of internal and external guidance documents by capturing key procedures and drafting instructive guidelines.
โ€ข Assist in the planning and execution of in-person and digital meetings and events led by the Operations and Investments team, draft meeting minutes whenever necessary.
โ€ข Provide any other required support, including procurement and administrative support, to the team and the wider Section.

Minimum qualifications required
The ideal candidate will:
โ€ข Possess a university-level degree in a relevant field, for example Social Sciences, Business and Economics, International Relations, etc.
โ€ข Be fluent in English, with advanced writing and editing skills
โ€ข Have advanced experience using the Microsoft Office suite, with particular attention to advanced experience using Microsoft Excel
โ€ข Have strong analytical and organizational skills
โ€ข Have design and document formatting skills and be detail-oriented
โ€ข Be tech-savvy and have a keen interest in budgeting, reports and fundraising
โ€ข Show a genuine desire to learn and adapt
โ€ข Possess strong inter-personal skills and be a keen team-player.

In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
โ€ข Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of
applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO1; and
โ€ข Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
โ€ข not have exhausted the maximum cumulative internship period with UNHCR, including any prior internships (8 months for full-time and 12 months for part-time)

NOTE: An individual who bears the relationship of parent, child or sibling or step-parent, step-child or step-sibling to a current UNHCR staff member or affiliate is not eligible for an internship.

Desirable qualifications and skills
โ€ข Experience with online content and knowledge management platforms and SharePoint
โ€ข Knowledge of a second UN language Arabic/Chinese/French/Russian/Spanish)
โ€ข Good knowledge and understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods and techniques.

Conditions
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in Copenhagen.

Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.

Travel: Unless provided or paid by external sponsoring entities, UNHCR reimburse interns engaged from a location outside of the country of the duty station for the ticket costs of their outward and return travel to/from the duty station by the most economical route available on economy class, irrespective of the duration of the journey. Reimbursement shall be limited to the authorized outward and return travel between the internโ€™s country of residence and the
internโ€™s duty station, or actual route of travel, whichever is lower.

Acquiring and renewing current visas, residence permits including all associated costs, obtaining medical certification and compliance with taxation requirements (if applicable), are the responsibility of the intern. However, the office can assist interns with the initiation of the visa process.

The selected candidate will need to provide UNHCR with a proof of health insurance coverage applicable to the assigned internship location and a certificate of good health from a qualified medical practitioner certifying their fitness for work and travel. In the event the selected candidate is not able to produce the required certificates, they will not be admitted to the Internship Programme.
