What you will do

Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelinesAssist with the implementation of the Protection portfolio according to plan of action and establish procedures and best practicesPrepare and develop status reports as required by managementEnsure proper filing of documentsย Implement independently procedures and activities within own function or Core Competency as delegated.

Specifically, you will;

Take primary responsibility for community-level Civilian Self-Protection (CSP) initiatives, including conducting protection assessments, gathering community information, and supporting communities in implementing CSP strategies.Provide training, coaching, and guidance to communities on Civilian Self-Protection (CSP) to help them implement and enhance Civilian Self-Protection (CSP) measures effectively.Deliver high-quality Community-Based Protection services, such as psychosocial support (PSS), information sessions, and community awareness-raising activities.Conduct protection monitoring activities, including Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews, Household Assessments, guided observations, and other related tasks. Report protection incidents, identify protection needs, and provide regular updates to the line manager.Conduct field visits to targeted operational areas to identify individuals at risk and refer them to the line manager or other services providers.Update the service and stakeholder mapping on a quarterly basis along with the Protection team.Collaborate with the line manager to clean and analyse qualitative data and ensure proper archiving of all paper-based data collection forms.Prepare and submit weekly and monthly protection reports as required by the line manager.Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including partner agencies, community leaders, representatives, and service providers.Perform any other tasks relevant to the position assigned by line manager.

What You Will Bring

Minimum 2 years of experienceย from an assistant level at project implementation position in a humanitarian/recovery context.Experience from working inย complex and volatile contexts.Technical Protection expertise,ย in particular Community-Based Protection services.Good understanding of keyย technical standardsย (Civilian Self-Protection (CSP), PSS, information sessions, and community awareness-raising activities, Household Assessments, humanitarian principles etc.) with the ability to integrate into response programming.Fluency in Arabic and Kurdish,ย both written and verbal.Some knowledge in English.Strong project Implementation skills, including Monitoring, Group Discussions,ย gathering community information and reporting.Proven experience inย Community-Based Protection services.Excellentย communication, networking, and partnership-building skills.Demonstrated ability toย develop and implement working relationships with stakeholders, including partner agencies, community leaders, representatives, and service providers.
